Join us tomorrow night for the AHS Diversity Night!
The Vocal Music Department and the Social Justice Team are once again presenting Diversity Night, this year with the theme of "Connecting through the Arts." It's an educational concert that will highlight differences in cultures and races, and how the Arts can impact and bring us together.
The evening will be student-led, and will begin at 7 pm. There will be a variety of choir music from different cultures and in the theme of diversity, a Step Dance performed by the Jetsetters (choreographed and taught by AHS alumni Ande Green), and the Jetsetters will even perform select music from their competition show. Between each performance the Social Justice team will present some educational elements discussing the music/dance being performed. This year, there will also be a collaborative art project in the lobby prior to the event.
We hope you can join us for this fantastic event! #RepthatA

🩵❤️ Aviator Sweethearts: Chris ('07) & Te'Ara ('07) Bivins ❤️🩵
Chris and Te'Ara first crossed paths when Stanton and State Street merged to become Alliance Middle School. Te'Ara would to travel to State Street to attend volleyball practice and Chris would travel to Stanton for football practice. Chris passed a note to Te'Ara through his cousin who attended school with her. They didn't officially start dating until their junior year at Alliance High School when their friend set it up. Chris officially asked her by decorating her car with flowers and gifts on Feb. 12 and they have been together for 19 years and married for 10! Together they have two children- Trey, a 5th grader at Alliance Intermediate School, and Copelynn, a 1st grader at Alliance Early Learning School.
Their favorite thing about being Aviator Sweethearts is being able to grow up with their best friend and to keep falling in love with the new versions of one another as they grow older together!

Students in Alissa Batdorff's class at Alliance Elementary School have been working hard to complete their very own "Who Would Win?" book 🤔 through a research project. They got their inspiration from Jerry Pallotta’s "Who Would Win?" books where he takes two animals, compares facts about them, then tells who would win in a battle between the two animals based on the facts. 🐶🐱
Students in my class got to pick their own two animals, research facts about their speed, size, habitat, hunting style, diet and extra fun facts. Then, they come up with a story about a battle between the two animals. They used their facts to determine who would win in the end! 🏆 #RepthatA

Connilyn Cross' and Carrie LeBeau's kindergarten class recently learned about Chinese New Year! This was a great opportunity to discuss common East Asian practices to get ready for the new year and to compare and contrast these practices to the ones frequently used in western new year traditions. Students made dragon masks, scrolls depicting the year of the snake, and enjoyed long noodles to encourage a long and healthy life! Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, was a chance to celebrate the new year in a new way for most kindergartners! 🏮🐲 #RepthatA
