\r\n6th Grade
\r\nAs we move along in the school year, we need your continued support in stressing the importance of academics to your students. Sometimes, raising a student’s grade can simply be accomplished by turning in work they’ve already completed. Make sure to diligently check the Home Access Center and ask your student about any missing coursework they may have.
\r\nFriday, Feb. 21 will be the annual Valentine’s Day Dance. Students must have a permission slip turned in, in order to come to the dance. Unfortunately, students on social probation are unable to attend.
\r\n8th Grade
\r\nThis was a busy week at AMS:
\r\nThe Student Senate and eighth grade choir did a great job at the Pathfinders assembly. Thank you for your work to create and put on such an awesome assembly for the school and to honor two people that have done so much for our city and school.
\r\nAlso on Friday, selected students were given information about the Rising Scholars program through Kent State Stark. This program is designed to give first-generation and underrepresented students from Stark County a pathway to achieve a college degree at no cost. More information on the application process will be coming soon.
\r\nIf you didn’t see it on social media, our Academic Challenge team was involved in a really nice act of kindness for a stranger on Wednesday. We’re very proud of them for noticing a person who was struggling and taking it upon themselves to help them feel better.
