ALLIANCE, OHIO – (June 1, 2022) – After many years of educating adult-aged community members, the Alliance Career Center (ACC) is set to close following the conclusion of this year’s classes.
\r\nACC has offered community members a number of educational opportunities over the years. Most recently, programs available were cosmetology, medical billing and coding, STNA and welding. ACC also housed the Robert T. White School of Practical Nursing.
\r\n“We are proud of all the career center has done for the community over the years,” said Superintendent Rob Gress, “However, as the district works to insure we meet our goals, it’s becoming more and more evident that we need to focus our time and resources on educating students from preschool to high school. It is absolutely crucial that we do everything in our power to prepare Alliance’s youth for life, college and careers. There are a number of great organizations in or near Alliance that are willing and able to offer the same adult education opportunities as those we have been offering.”
\r\nCurrent students and graduates will have access to their ACC transcripts by completing the form located on the Alliance High School website, https://www.alliancecityschools.org/o/high-school. Graduates of the career center will need to click the “Alumni Transcript Request” button on the homepage to complete the form.
\r\nACC has served as a location for PearsonVue testing and BCI/FBI background checks. The PearsonVue testing will end with the closure of the career center. Alternate testing locations can be found on the PearsonVue website, https://home.pearsonvue.com/.
\r\nBackground checks will continue to be offered by Alliance City Schools. Updated hours of operations will be available at www.alliancecityschools.org following the closure of ACC.
